Guide to Competitions
We play most weekends in the following types of events
The Majors
These are the most prestigious competitions held by the Club. Prizes are excellent and there is usually an big turnout of members to play in them.  There are the four Saints, Captain's Prize, President's Prize and Club Championship.
Brent Cup
Monthly Medal played from March to November. Â Each month we crown a winner. Â If all 9 months are played then the overall winner for the best 5 out of 9 scores determines the year's Brent Cup recipient and puts their name on the Honour Board
Cremin
Best Stableford score each month is the month's winner. Annual Cremin winner is best 7 out of 12 scores if all 12 monthly competitions are held
Other Competitions
There are a variety of matchplay competitions held during the year. Most of the competitions require qualification. They include
Winter & Summer Fourball - you play with a partner against another pair in Matchplay over 18 holes. Winners go through to the next round.
Winter & Summer Singles - Similar to the fourball, but you play for yourself against a single opponent.
Greensomes, both players on a team tee off, the best of the two tee balls is selected and that ball is then played alternate shot until holed.
Club Championship - a 2-day Medal competition with winners by category and the overall winner as the player with the lowest Gross score over the 2 days.
Jimmy Cup - a 1-day bogey competition. Players score +1 for a below par nett score, 0 for nett pars and -1 for anything above nett par.
England v Ireland v Rest of the World - teams vie for the International Trophy and bragging rights in a format agreed by the team captains
